CROMN is the painting project of Nicolas Crombez. It explores how the digital interferes with the image, and how that interference takes shape in paint. Noise, fragmentation and visual accidents open up a space where forms become unstable and the eye searches for familiar ground.
An attraction to what spills over, slips away or resists interpretation. On the threshold between recognition and abstraction, presences emerge that feel both familiar and strange.
